Why I Started Soft Chaos Collective
Have you ever bought a planner convinced that this one would finally change everything? Me too. Unfortunately I started and stopped and restarted and stopped again at least 10 different planners and calendars and budgeting sheets and organizational packets. They all had pieces that I was looking for, but I could never keep up with it because there was always something missing. Or I had to pay hundreds of dollars to get the full guide/planner/self-help packet. And who has that kind of money in this economy? (Pretend I don’t also spend quite a bit of money on Door Dash). I needed one system that worked together and also looked cute and aesthetically pleasing (because that’s important to my brain).
So, long story short, I decided I was going to make my own system. Something that would really help me and hopefully help others too. Maybe you’re here because you’re bored. Maybe it’s because you want to try (again) to get your life together. Maybe you need a friend. Maybe you just want some tips. Whatever your reason is for being here, I’m happy to see you! (Metaphorically that is) and I hope you can get something positive out of your experience here. My name is Elizabeth, but everyone just calls me Liz. I am 29 years old and I was recently diagnosed with ADHD. By recently, I mean only a few months ago. In that time, a lot of things finally began to “click” and I finally understood why traditional systems never stuck for me.
The Soft Chaos System is my answer to that problem. I am rolling out the Soft Chaos System in stages, focusing on the mind, the home, family, work, money, yourself, planning, recovery, and growth. I am creating and using all of these systems personally to help get me organized and on track with the things I want to accomplish. I’m hoping you can use these systems to do the same. Whether you are starting over, trying again, or looking for a little more peace in your everyday life, I’m glad that you’re here. We’ll figure it out together, one small system at a time. This world could use more people supporting people.
The Soft Chaos System isn’t about perfection. It’s about learning to live life, not just get through it, while realizing that being perfect is overrated and every step forward (no matter how small) should be celebrated (preferably with yummy pasta and a good book)!
I’d love to hear from you, what’s one thing you tried over and over to get organized that just never seemed to stick? Leave a comment below or come say hi on Threads! @softcaos_collective
